What are Summer Tryout Days?
Our Dunes Summer Tryout Days is an opportunity for interested athletes to be placed and commit to an National, regional and local teams team for the 2025 club season. This is open to current Dunes Volleyball Club athletes and ANY interested athletes regardless of previous club affiliation. This is a tryout day for athletes interested in being placed on an Elite (National, Region or local teams} team for this upcoming club season. Athletes aged 15-18 are invited to attend.

Why Summer Tryouts ?
We want to provide our athletes and families the stability and comfort of knowing what the next club season will hold. Holding our tryouts in the Summer Day gives our athletes the ability to focus on their respective school seasons and not worry about a club decision. This will also allow athletes to know their 2025 club team makeup and coaches before their school season officially begins to help minimize distractions and alleviate club recruiting during the school season.
Summer Tryouts also creates an opportunity for our Dunes Volleyball Club athletes to be provided with additional college recruiting throughout the Fall to assist with college visits and the decision-making process. College recruiting timelines have changed and having the Fall to work on recruiting will be helpful before the NCAA Dead Period. We are here to help our Dunes Volleyball Club athletes every step of the way!

Costs for Tryout fee
Dunes Volleyball Club for the 2025 season
· $75 non-refundable Tryout Fee
- $100 non-refundable Team Commitment Fee upon acceptance This $100.00 will go towards tournament fees. If you decide not to join it is non-refundable
- You do not have to pay an additional $75.00 if you have already paid it for the first tryout.
The Dunes Volleyball Club is a non-profit organization founded to improve youth volleyball players. Dunes Volleyball was founded in 1989 has established itself as a strong junior volleyball club. We take pride in this reputation and our coaches will continue to work hard and bring innovative training to our club players. We strive for coaches, athletes and parents to be committed to these efforts
We have 3 levels of teams
National teams
The elite travel season is established to cater to athletes that want to train, develop, and play a highly competitive season with others that share their same goals. They practice 2-3 days a week with their team, with either a tournament or a practice on the weekend. These teams will generally play 2-3 tournaments a month, with a number of out of state events. Most national teams end their season at AAU Nationals in Orlando, FL in June.
Region Teams
The region season is for athletes that want to train, develop, and play a committed shortened season. They will practice 2-3 days a week with either a practice or a tournament on the weekend. They will generally do a couple out of town tournaments in either Indiana , Michigan or Illinois.. Region teams compete mid-December through mid-May, and we aim to have teams at this level at every practice location.
Dunes Local Teams
Dunes Local Teams are for athletes that are not ready to make a six month commitment to volleyball, and often play other sports that make it difficult to do so. Local teams have 1-2 practices per week, with either a practice or tournament on Sundays. We offer two seasons, the first from mid-December through early March, and the second from mid-March through mid-May. Players may play in both sessions!
