Kevin Labaj


Kevin Labaj has been a Dunes coach for 13 years. In that time, he has coached many ages and levels throughout the dunes organization. Kevin has been playing volleyball for as long as he can remember. His mother was a coach for 38 years and says everything he knows about volleyball is due to her. He has played in various adult leagues indoors and outdoors and has been very successful.

He started his coaching career in 2002 at South Central High school coaching 7th and 8th volleyball. In 2006, he moved up to the head junior varsity coach position there. In 2007, he went to Marquette High school as an assistant coach where they won a state championship that year. The following year, he became the head junior varsity coach at Michigan City High School where he coached in that position for 4 years. He then moved on to the Head Varsity coaching position at Washington Township High School where he coached there for 5 years. He has coached both the girls and boys teams at Washington Township where he set numerous records for both teams. This past year, he moved into the state of Michigan and has taken over the Varsity coaching position at New Buffalo high school.

He currently lives in Michigan City with his beautiful wife and works at Blue Chip Casino.
